I have been a fan of Steve Rude's artwork since I first saw an issue of NEXUS at my local comic shop in the early 1980's. That being said, when I came across a Facebook announcement about his art for sale I jumped at the opportunity to add a piece to my personal original art collection. I couldn't decide among two awesome and unique pieces, so I purchased both (the other a tasteful nude). Hey, life is short! They were safely packaged and arrived within a few quick days. I appreciate the personalized invoice and the assorted "extras" included. I took the opportunity to watch a live stream last week and over the MLK holiday weekend looked through more archives and offerings. I ordered multiple copies of ‘Wonder Woman Day at the Fair’ as a gift for all my friends who are cat lovers. This piece captures the warmth and kindness I see in my friends who’ve saved many feline lives by adopting strays over the years. Plus we get to see Wonder Woman connecting with young girls doing their part to find good homes for a bunch of kittens.
I purchase a lot of art prints throughout the year but I’ve never received art that was packaged with such care. The prints were wrapped in multiple layers of beautiful blue tissue paper and sealed with a Nexus holiday sticker. Plus, I was sent multiple emails letting me know the package’s status throughout the shipping process. I felt like someone on Steve’s team would be aware if anything went wrong during the delivery stage of my order and that alone is a really rare thing these days.

For anyone who wants to learn about how comics are created, this book is a master class. Printed on high-quality paper, the book takes you through all aspects of the creative process, from the idea, to the script, to layouts, art. Learn from one of the true masters, Steve Rude.

It's a great drawing and it arrived safely. I haven't had time to get it framed, but I have a space for it. And it's awesome to get something like this without driving to connection and waiting in line forever. I'm looking at some old covers now. Nexus Alien Justice #2 is beautiful. I received your wonderful book: "Steve Rude's FIGURE DRAWING, A How To from a Veteran Illustrator" a few days ago.
I got to work on copying some of the drawings in order to improve my figure drawing. This book is TERRIIC!. USEFUL is the key word I can think of today. The figure drawings help me bridge my Loomis learning into my comic book effort. I had a great time drawing flying figures today. Steve, I really appreciate this volume. It is loaded with stuff I want to work into my beingness as an artist

It's always interesting to revisit something you first read as a child and loved to see if it was a good as you remember. Nexus: As It Happened, reprinting the earliest Nexus issues, is better than I remember. I miss the color, but have to say seeing the artwork in black and white is its own joy. Similar collections for the following issues would be well worth exploration. Regarding more mundane issues, thanks for a wonderful package, easy ordering, and speedy delivery. And lest I forget, the stickers! Love 'em. Keep up the good work.

In field crowded with "how to" books, Steve Rude has created a must read book on figure drawing. He emphasizes the fundamentals of gesture and basic forms in a concise, easy to read manner. We are lucky to have an artist and teacher of his stature among us.
